Inside Formentera’s First Fashion Takeover by Loewe

On the tranquil shores of Formentera, where time slows and the Mediterranean light softens everything it touches, a new kind of cultural moment is unfolding. This summer, LOEWE Perfumes has transformed the Dunas de Formentera Boutique Hotel into an immersive sensory destination, marking the island’s first true fashion takeover and redefining the boundaries of luxury hospitality, outdoor living, and interior design.

A Hotel Reimagined Through Scent and Design

At the heart of the project is LOEWE Perfumes’ new pistachio-scented candle, a fragrance that becomes the conceptual and aesthetic anchor of the entire experience.

Inspired by pistachio’s distinctive green, nutty profile, the fragrance explores a balance between warmth and freshness. Its gourmand character is rooted in the memory of ice cream, translating taste into aroma and emotion. This sensory starting point sets the tone for every detail within the hotel, from curated interiors to tactile surfaces designed to echo the softness and richness of the scent.

Luxury Hospitality as a Sensory Experience

The Dunas de Formentera Boutique Hotel evolves into a fully immersive environment. Here, guests move through spaces that feel intentionally composed yet naturally integrated into the island’s surroundings. Materials, textures, and colors are carefully selected to reflect the essence of the Pistachio candle: soft greens, earthy tones, and sun-washed surfaces that mirror Formentera’s landscape.

Outdoor Living in Its Purest Form

Formentera’s natural rhythm plays a central role in shaping the experience. The slow Mediterranean pace, open skies, and coastal landscapes extend the hotel’s design language into the outdoors, blurring the boundary between interior and exterior life.

Courtyards, terraces, and transitional spaces become extensions of the scent itself, allowing guests to experience the fragrance as an atmosphere.

Interior Design as Emotional Language

Inside the hotel, interior design takes on a more expressive role, where each space is treated as part of a larger sensory composition.

Luxury Hospitality

The glazed terracotta container of the candle in soft green, tactile, and engraved with the LOEWE monogram, becomes a key reference point. Its palette and craftsmanship are echoed throughout the interiors, reinforcing a sense of continuity between object and environment. Natural wax, artisanal finishes, and Mediterranean-inspired materials ground the experience in authenticity, while still maintaining the precision expected of contemporary luxury design.

A New Definition of Island Luxury

The takeover at Dunas de Formentera signals a shift in how brands engage with destination spaces. By merging luxury hospitality, outdoor living, and interior design, LOEWE Perfumes has created an environment where fragrance becomes architecture, and architecture becomes experience.
